The family of former Super Eagles coach, Festus Adegboye Onigbinde, has announced his passing, expressing gratitude to God for what they described as a life well spent.
In a statement released by Mrs. Bolade Adesuyi on behalf of the family, the revered football tactician and high chief from Modakeke was said to have passed away peacefully a few minutes before the announcement.

Onigbinde, who was widely celebrated as the first indigenous Nigerian to coach the Nigeria national football team, was described as a distinguished figure whose contributions to Nigerian football and national development remain unforgettable.
The late High Chief was also remembered as a devoted father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who touched many lives through his leadership, wisdom and dedication to sports development.
The family expressed deep appreciation to God for the fulfilled life he lived and for his remarkable impact on Nigeria and the global football community.
They prayed that his soul would rest perfectly in the bosom of the Lord Jesus Christ and thanked friends, associates and well-wishers for their prayers and support at this moment of grief.
Final funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be announced at a later date.
