Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Presidential Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) has scheduled the inauguration of the party’s Presidential and Governorship Campaign Councils in the state for Friday, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, which is expected to mark a major step in the party’s preparations for the elections, will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Conference Room of the Governor’s Office, Ibadan.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, said the campaign councils had been constituted to strengthen the party’s mobilisation and coordination across the state.
According to the statement, the Executive Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Adeniran, has been appointed Oyo State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign and Director-General of the Oyo State Governorship Campaign Council.
The former Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Saheed Arowosaye, popularly known as AROSAD, was appointed Deputy State Coordinator of the APM 2027 Presidential Campaign.
Similarly, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Demola Ojo, will serve as Deputy Director-General (South), while Dr. Femi Ojo and Alhaji Siju Lawal were appointed Deputy Directors-General for Oyo Central and Oyo North Senatorial Districts, respectively.
The campaign structure also places Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo as Director of the Women’s Wing, while the former Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Youth Affairs, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, will head the Youth Wing as Director.
The composition of the campaign councils reflects the party’s attempt to establish a broad-based mobilisation structure across the state, with particular attention to the three senatorial districts, women and young people.
The inauguration is expected to formally activate the party’s campaign machinery in Oyo State as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement added that further appointments to the campaign councils would be announced in due course.
