The President of Ogbomoso First Group, Architect Sakiru Suara, has condemned the recent attack allegedly carried out by suspected bandits and kidnappers in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the incident as barbaric, inhumane and a serious threat to the peace and security of Ogbomosoland.

Architect Suara expressed sadness over the killings, destruction and abduction that accompanied the attack, including the reported kidnapping of the Principal of Esiele School. He lamented that several innocent residents were killed, injured and traumatised by the criminal invasion.

According to him, the increasing rate of insecurity, kidnapping and banditry, especially in rural communities, requires urgent and coordinated efforts from all stakeholders, warning that negligence and silence could further encourage criminal activities across the region.

The Ogbomoso First Group President extended his condolences to families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of victims injured during the attack. He also sympathised with families of kidnapped victims presently facing emotional pain and uncertainty over the safety of their loved ones.

Architect Suara appealed to the Oyo State Government under Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Amotekun Corps, OPC, Vigilante Groups and other security agencies to intensify security operations in the affected communities and ensure the immediate rescue of all kidnapped victims.

He stressed that the people of Ogbomosoland deserve to live without fear or intimidation, adding that security must remain a collective responsibility involving government, security agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders.

Architect Suara also urged traditional rulers across Ogbomosoland to unite and set aside rivalry, superiority contests and divisive tendencies weakening the collective security structure of the land.

According to him, disunity among community leaders and traditional institutions has created loopholes being exploited by kidnappers and other criminal elements to invade communities and perpetrate evil acts.

He maintained that stronger cooperation among royal fathers, community leaders and stakeholders would help reduce criminal activities and make communities more secure against external threats.
