The College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Iseyin Campus, has dismissed reports circulating on social media that lecturers of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences have returned to the university’s main campus in Ogbomoso, describing the claims as unfounded.

The college, in a statement signed by its Provost, Prof. Mufutau Raufu, stated that the reports did not reflect the current situation on the Iseyin Campus, stressing that academic activities had resumed following the extended academic break.

According to the statement, lecturers across the college, including those in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, have commenced lectures.

The college also disclosed that its Board of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources had held its first meeting of the new academic session as part of efforts to strengthen teaching, learning and the overall academic environment for staff and students.

The meeting, it said, provided an opportunity to review the college’s academic responsibilities and reaffirm its commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.

The college urged students and other members of the university community to disregard reports suggesting that lecturers had returned to Ogbomoso, insisting that such claims were inconsistent with the situation on the Iseyin campus.

It reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its academic mandate and advancing the development of the campus in line with the objectives of the university.

The college further appreciated the continued support of the university administration, students and other stakeholders, while pledging to work collaboratively with relevant authorities to improve the teaching, learning and working environment.

On the proposed transformation of the campus into a full-fledged autonomous university, the college urged students to exercise restraint and avoid speculation regarding the pledge by Oyo State Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, to initiate the process.

It advised that any developments concerning the proposal should be guided by verified information and official communications from the appropriate authorities.

The college reiterated that it remained focused on its academic responsibilities, institutional growth and the continued advancement of the Iseyin campus.
