The All Progressives Movement (APM) Deputy Governorship Candidate in Oyo State, Engineer Muftau Open Salau, has demonstrated his commitment to religious harmony and peaceful coexistence by supporting the choir anniversary and fundraising ceremony of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Jesus Power, Isale Oja Jango, Sawmill, Adeleke Area, in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area.

Salau made a financial contribution of ₦600,000 towards the church’s fundraising initiative, directing that ₦500,000 be allocated to the church while ₦100,000 should go to the choir to support its activities and studio project.

The gesture, according to the APM deputy governorship candidate, reflects his belief in religious tolerance, unity, mutual understanding, and the conviction that Christians and Muslims can work together for the progress of society, irrespective of their religious differences.

Welcoming Salau to the church, Prophet Phillips Akinade Adejare expressed delight and gratitude to God for the politician’s decision to honour the invitation without religious prejudice or discrimination.

The cleric described Salau’s visit as a demonstration of religious tolerance and an indication that he was different from individuals who might decline invitations to religious gatherings because of their personal religious affiliations.

Prophet Adejare said Salau’s presence had encouraged the congregation and inspired him to declare the church’s support for the APM ahead of the 2027 Oyo State Governorship Election.

He also pledged the church’s votes for the party, describing the visit as a positive example of interfaith understanding and peaceful coexistence.

In his remarks, Salau thanked the church leadership and congregation for the warm reception and honour accorded him.

He disclosed that he had initially considered sending a representative because of his demanding schedule and numerous engagements. However, he reconsidered his decision after recalling that Financial Evangelist Joseph Opaleye, a committed member of the church and a strong supporter of the APM, belonged to the congregation.

According to him, honouring the invitation was also a way of showing respect for Opaleye, whom he described as a dependable party member and a valuable link between the church and his political team.

Salau noted that Opaleye could serve as a channel through which the church could communicate its concerns, messages, and expectations to him whenever necessary.

He urged the congregation to participate actively in the 2027 governorship election by voting for the APM’s governorship candidate, Honourable Bimbo Adekambi, and himself as the deputy governorship candidate.

Salau’s visit and financial contribution underscored the importance of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and collaboration among people of different faiths in promoting peaceful coexistence and community development in Oyo State.
