The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has established a third Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) position and restructured its existing DVC offices as part of efforts to strengthen institutional leadership, improve operational efficiency, and drive academic innovation.
The decision followed the approval of the University Senate, which endorsed the creation of the office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations, alongside the redesignation of the two existing DVC portfolios to reflect the institution’s evolving priorities.
The newly approved offices are Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Innovation; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development and Partnerships.
Speaking on the development, the Registrar, Mrs Olayinka Balogun, said the restructuring was aimed at aligning with LAUTECH’s vision of promoting excellence in teaching, research, and global collaboration.
“The new roles will provide focused leadership in critical areas, ensuring that the University remains competitive and responsive to the demands of modern higher education.
“This initiative reflects the university’s dedication to building a dynamic governance structure that supports innovation, operational effectiveness, and sustainable partnerships,” Balogun said.
At its meeting held on Monday, August 3, 2026, the university’s Governing Council approved the election of Professors Dahud O. Araromi, Adepoju T. Ogunkunle, and Lukman A. Sunmonu as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Innovation; Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations; and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development and Partnerships, respectively.
