In the true spirit of Eid-el-Kabir, a season that symbolizes sacrifice, compassion, and devotion to Almighty Allah, renowned philanthropist and political figure, Muftau Open Salau, has extended generous humanitarian support to party executives and residents across Ogbomoso Zone and other parts of Oyo State.
As part of activities marking this year’s Eid celebration, the Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) donated the sum of ₦200,000 each to the executive members of the five local government areas within Ogbomoso Zone. The gesture, according to political observers and beneficiaries, reflects his continued commitment to grassroots development, unity, and welfare support.
In addition to the cash donations, Engineer Open Salau distributed 50 bags of rice across the five local governments, with each ward receiving one bag to support families during the sacred Islamic festival. Furthermore, 50 rams were also distributed across Oyo State to facilitate the observance of the Eid-el-Kabir sacrifice, popularly known among Muslims as Qurbani.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Engineer Open Salau described Eid-el-Kabir as a period of sober reflection, total submission to the will of Allah, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence. He urged Muslims across Nigeria, particularly in Oyo State and Ogbomoso Zone, to celebrate the festival with the fear of Allah (Taqwa), love for humanity, and dedication to the values of peace, unity, and brotherhood as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
The Director of Project Performance Monitoring Agency under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde also used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to continue praying for the nation and support efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across the country.
Engineer Open Salau passionately appealed to individuals involved in kidnapping, banditry, terrorism, and other acts capable of disrupting societal harmony to repent sincerely, abandon criminality, and embrace productive ventures that would contribute positively to national development and communal tranquility.
He equally extended warm Eid felicitations to Governor Seyi Makinde, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, traditional rulers across Ogbomoso Zone and the state at large, praying that the sacred celebration would usher in abundant peace, prosperity, sound health, and divine blessings for all families.
Residents and beneficiaries who spoke during the distribution exercise commended the engineer for his consistent acts of generosity and dedication to humanitarian service, describing his intervention as timely and impactful amid prevailing economic challenges.
