In an atmosphere marked by unity, camaraderie, and democratic enthusiasm, Mr. Babatunde Akanbi Oyelade, son of the late political stalwart and former Oyo State TESCOM Chairman, Pa Gbadebo Wahab Oyelade, emerged victorious alongside other candidates during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) primary elections held in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The keenly contested primaries, conducted on Thursday at Baptist Methodist Primary School, Ogbomoso, witnessed a large turnout of party members, delegates, and supporters from across the local government area.
The exercise was supervised by party leaders and officials, including the Ogbomoso South ADC Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Aderinto, ward chairmen representing the 10 wards in the local government, and several party stakeholders and aspirants contesting for positions in the Oyo State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate.
Thousands of electorates and party faithful thronged the venue to participate in the democratic process, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening internal democracy within the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The election process was described by observers as peaceful, transparent, and violence-free, with party members commending the leadership of the ADC for ensuring orderliness throughout the exercise.
At the end of the primaries, successful candidates for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate emerged based on the total votes recorded across the wards.
According to the official results announced at the venue, Ward 1 recorded 401 votes each for the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly categories.
In Ward 2, the Senate category recorded 307 votes, while the House of Representatives polled 770 votes and the House of Assembly category garnered 903 votes.
Ward 3 delivered 530 votes for the Senate and 630 votes each for both the House of Representatives and House of Assembly positions.
Similarly, Ward 4 recorded 569 votes for the Senate, 1,030 votes for the House of Representatives, and 1,569 votes for the House of Assembly.
Ward 5 produced 201 votes for the Senate, while both the House of Representatives and House of Assembly categories secured 320 votes respectively.
Among the successful aspirants who emerged victorious during the exercise was Mr. Babatunde Akanbi Oyelade, whose victory was celebrated by supporters and party loyalists at the venue.
Speaking shortly after the announcement of the results, Hon. Oyelade expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the ADC for conducting what he described as a credible, peaceful, and transparent primary election.
He also praised party members for displaying maturity, discipline, and unity throughout the process, noting that the peaceful atmosphere reflected the readiness of the ADC to provide purposeful leadership to the people.
Hon. Oyelade assured constituents of his commitment to delivering quality representation and fostering inclusiveness within the party and the larger society.
He pledged to work towards restoring hope to the people and ensuring that every member of the constituency has a sense of belonging under the ADC platform.
The successful conduct of the primaries has further strengthened confidence among party members as preparations intensify for the forthcoming elections in Oyo State.
