Alhaji Rasaq Gbadegesin Kareem, popularly known as Àgbétì, a former Deputy Chief of Staff to the late Governor Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala and a seasoned political tactician has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for reintegrating him into the present administration.
Speaking during a well-attended Eid-el-Kabir celebration at his Ogbomoso residence yesterday, Àgbétì described Governor Makinde as a leader endowed with prodigious wisdom, political maturity, and an uncommon sense of reconciliation. He praised the governor for his magnanimity in resolving political misunderstandings without holding grudges, stating that such rare leadership qualities exemplify Governor Makinde’s commitment to inclusive governance.
“Governor Seyi Makinde is a sagacious and visionary leader who doesn’t abandon his people, regardless of the magnitude of political disagreements. He is a true unifier and a man of immense capacity,” Àgbétì stated.
The former Deputy Chief of Staff hosted friends, family members, political associates, and loyal supporters at his home in a celebration that he said was deeply rooted in gratitude to Allah for His mercies, protection, and the gift of life. He noted that the Eid festival presented a perfect opportunity to reflect on Allah’s kindness and the virtues of humility, love, and obedience.
In an exclusive chat with ScoopChase, Alhaji Kareem thanked his loyal supporters for their unwavering faith and support throughout both prosperous and challenging times. He urged them to remain steadfast in their support for Governor Makinde’s administration, which he described as the best thing that has ever happened to Oyo State in recent history.
“Oyo State under Governor Makinde has become a cynosure of all eyes,” he said. “Through his golden touch, the state has witnessed unprecedented transformation across key sectors including infrastructure, education, agriculture, environment, sports, and the creative arts. His achievements are evident for all to see.”
Àgbétì concluded by calling on the people of Oyo State to continue supporting and praying for Governor Makinde as he continues his second term in office. He expressed confidence that the governor would leave an indelible mark on the state, taking it to “an inimitable terrain of excellence.”
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants him more wisdom, strength, and protection,” he said, “not only for himself but for his wife, children, and the peace-loving people of Oyo State.”
