Twindad Foundation, Ogbomoso, has adopted the three children of the late Mr. John Olaleye, the teacher who was killed by bandits after being abducted during an attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15, 2026.
The children—Daniel, Joy and Morayo Olaleye—will be accommodated at the Twindad Orphanage Home in the Hamama area of Ogbomoso, where they will receive quality education, healthcare, emotional support and other welfare benefits aimed at securing their future.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the founder of the Foundation and House of Representatives candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire Federal Constituency, Dr. Kunle Adegbite.
Adegbite expressed profound sympathy to the Olaleye family and other families who lost loved ones in the attack, describing the incident as a painful reminder of the growing insecurity confronting communities.
“Twindad Foundation extends its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. John Olaleye, who tragically lost his life in the bandit attack at Esinele-Yawota. We share in the grief of the bereaved families and stand in solidarity with everyone affected by this senseless act of violence,” the statement read.
According to him, the Foundation’s decision to adopt the three children underscores its commitment to protecting vulnerable children and ensuring they are not deprived of opportunities because of tragic circumstances beyond their control.
He assured that the Foundation would take full responsibility for the children’s upbringing by providing them with quality education, medical care, emotional rehabilitation and a secure environment where they can develop into responsible members of society.
“Our commitment goes beyond words. Every child deserves love, dignity and the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential, regardless of the hardships they may face,” Adegbite stated.
He further appealed to individuals, corporate organisations, philanthropic groups and other well-meaning Nigerians to support initiatives that provide care and hope for children and families displaced or devastated by violence.
Adegbite stressed that collective action remains essential to restoring hope to victims of insecurity and creating a society where every child has the opportunity to live in safety and fulfil their aspirations.
