The Asipa of Ogbomosoland, Barrister Olusegun Adeyemi Adekunle, has strongly condemned the recent bandits’ attack in parts of Ogbomoso axis, which reportedly claimed the lives of two persons and led to the abduction of principals, teachers and students of both Esiele Secondary School and Yawota Primary School in large numbers.
In a statement personally signed by the respected traditional chief and legal luminary, the Asipa described the incident as barbaric, horrifying and a direct assault on the peace, security and educational advancement of Ogbomosoland and Oyo State at large.

Barrister Adekunle expressed deep concern over the safety and wellbeing of the abducted victims, stressing that the victims must be rescued promptly before they are exposed to diseases, harsh environmental conditions or possible execution at the hands of their captors.
The Asipa passionately appealed to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Seyi Makinde, the Inspector General of Police, Tunde Disu, and the Nigeria Police Force as well as the Oyo State Commissioner of Police to urgently redouble their security efforts and ensure the immediate rescue of all abducted persons.
According to him, the disturbing rise in kidnapping and banditry within the Ogbomoso axis has become a major source of fear and anxiety among residents, farmers, students and commuters, noting that the time has come for decisive and coordinated security actions to permanently end the menace.
The prominent Ogbomoso chief, however, commended the swift response of the Nigerian Police Force under the leadership of IGP Tunde Disu for promptly visiting the scene of the incident to assess the situation and calm frayed nerves among residents. He lauded the police authorities for reassuring the affected communities that security operatives were already intensifying efforts to rescue the abducted victims safely and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Barrister Adekunle further appealed to all traditional rulers across Ogbomosoland to unite and work collectively towards providing lasting communal solutions to the growing menace of banditry and kidnapping in the region.
He emphasized that unity, vigilance and cooperation among traditional institutions, security agencies and community stakeholders remain the strongest fortress against criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of Ogbomosoland.
The Asipa concluded by urging residents to remain calm, law-abiding and supportive of security agencies, while expressing optimism that the abducted victims would soon regain their freedom safely.
