Ogbomoso, an ancient city in Oyo State, will come alive on Saturday, 24th, as friends, associates and well-wishers converge on the Recreation Club, Ogbomoso, to celebrate the birthday of Hon. Tosin Olanrewaju Adegun, a renowned philanthropist and community leader widely admired for his selfless service to humanity.

Hon. Adegun, often described as a quintessential personality and an unsparing giver, has earned widespread respect across social, political and cultural circles for his consistent commitment to the welfare of his people. Over the years, his generosity has positively impacted numerous lives, particularly youths, the less privileged and other vulnerable members of the community, largely without seeking public recognition.

A devoted lover of his town and its people, Hon. Adegun has repeatedly demonstrated that leadership is best expressed through service. His interventions in education, social welfare and community development have continued to inspire hope, strengthen unity and promote progress within Ogbomoso and beyond. Many residents regard him as a dependable pillar of support whose doors remain open to all, irrespective of status or background.

The birthday event is expected to attract notable personalities from within and outside the community, who will join in celebrating a man widely regarded as worthy of emulation.

Explaining his decision to celebrate in Ogbomoso, Hon. Adegun described the town as central to his identity and values. “Ogbomoso is home. This town shaped my values, my outlook and my sense of responsibility. If I am celebrating a milestone for the first time, it has to be here with the people and the community that made me who I am,” he said.

He added that the choice of venue was deliberate, stressing his preference for substance over spectacle. “I did not want a distant or flashy setting built on optics. Ogbomoso is my base, my constituency and my responsibility. Celebrating here keeps me grounded and accountable to the people who know me beyond titles,” he noted.

According to him, the celebration is also forward-looking. “Leadership starts locally, and impact should be felt first at home. Bringing national and state leaders here aligns influence with community development and signals long-term commitment, not symbolism.”
