The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja, is set to be officially crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 26th September 2025, during a highly anticipated coronation ceremony.
This follows the approval of his nomination by the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde. A source revealed that a state delegation recently met with Oba Ladoja and other members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his Bodija residence on Wednesday, to finalize preparations.

Confirming the development, Chief Adeola Oloko, a media aide to Oba Ladoja, spoke with Tribune Online, stating, “Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 26 September 2025.”
The prestigious ceremony will take place at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, an iconic location known for hosting significant cultural events.
Earlier this week, Oba Ladoja also held a private meeting with the Ibadan kingmakers at his Ondo Street residence in Old Bodija, Ibadan North Local Government Area. The closed-door meeting, which lasted almost two hours, marked the first since the passing of the immediate past monarch, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
