Tinubu’s Inclusive Governance Driving Development Across All Regions — Minister

By Our Correspondent

In what has been described as a historic step towards national equity, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has established new development commissions for all previously uncovered zones, ensuring no region is left behind in Nigeria’s development agenda.

The Minister highlighted that the administration’s inclusive governance style is reflected in balanced appointments and equitable distribution of national benefits.

On security, he disclosed that the Federal Government has invested in modern equipment, recruited more personnel, and strengthened intelligence gathering — efforts that have significantly weakened criminal networks across the country.

Speaking on youth empowerment, the Minister noted that unprecedented opportunities have been created for young Nigerians, with more youths appointed into the Federal Executive Council and leadership positions in key agencies than at any time in the nation’s history.

He revealed that through the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, about 450,000 students have accessed loans, while nearly 90,000 Nigerians have benefited from the Consumer Credit Scheme. Recognizing the South-East’s industrial potential, the government has also launched three major business funds worth ₦200 billion — the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme (PCGS), the FGN MSME Intervention Fund, and the FGN Manufacturing Sector Fund.

“I call on entrepreneurs to take advantage of these funds and embrace the ‘Nigeria First’ policy, which promotes the patronage of locally made products,” he urged.

The Minister further commended the inclusion of Enugu and Imo states among the 11 states granted regulatory autonomy to oversee electricity generation and distribution within their territories, in line with the Electricity Act signed into law by President Tinubu at the start of his administration. He encouraged other South-East states to adopt the policy without delay.

“Economic stability is returning; food prices are easing, forex markets are stabilizing, and global rating agencies are optimistic about Nigeria’s trajectory toward a $1 trillion economy by 2030. While challenges remain, the progress is real,” the Minister stated.

He assured that by the end of President Tinubu’s first term, the benefits of ongoing reforms would be more evident, as the Federal Government remains committed to transparency, accountability, and delivering the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians.

“The South-East is at the heart of this vision, not its periphery. We look forward to a frank and genial engagement with the good citizens of the State,” he added.

The Minister and his entourage inspected several ongoing Federal Government projects in Enugu, including the Oncology Centre for cancer treatment at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), the Eke-Obinagu flyover bridge, and the Naira Triangle flyover.

He also paid a visit to the Minister of Science and Innovation, Uche Nnaji, at his Akpugo country home, where both leaders held a closed-door meeting.
