A renowned philanthropist, advocate of humanism, promoter of peace, unity and harmonious coexistence in Ogbomosoland, as well as founder of ISBON, Alhaji Lamidi Monsur Ayoade Ejide has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to humanity by distributing N20,000 each to 500 beneficiaries across Ogbomoso zone in Oyo State, amounting to a total of N10 million.

The humanitarian gesture was carried out through the Ejide Islamic Foundation (EIF) as part of the foundation’s continuous efforts to support vulnerable residents, reduce hardship and strengthen religious harmony within the community.

The distribution exercise, which took place at the Ejide Central Mosque in the Kuye area of Ogbomoso, attracted beneficiaries from the five Local Government Areas in Ogbomoso zone, namely Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa.

Speaking during the event, Alhaji Ejide disclosed that the beneficiaries were carefully selected across the five councils to ensure fairness and inclusiveness. He explained that the initiative was inspired by his personal decision to discontinue participation in the annual Hajj pilgrimage and instead channel the resources towards assisting the poor and less privileged within Ogbomoso and neighbouring communities.

According to him, the initiative was designed to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship facing many Nigerians, irrespective of religious, ethnic or social affiliations.

He further noted that the Ejide Islamic Foundation has consistently sustained a tradition of humanitarian support for the needy over the years. He recalled that in 2025, as in previous years, the foundation distributed N33,000 each to 500 beneficiaries across the same five local government areas.

Beneficiaries of the latest empowerment programme cut across different segments of society, including Christians, Muslims, adherents of traditional religion, market men and women, community-based organisations, as well as traditional rulers in rural communities.

Many of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Alhaji Ejide for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention amid the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

One of the beneficiaries, Ms. Ayobami Yinusa, commended the philanthropist for extending the gesture beyond religious boundaries, noting that the support would significantly assist her family in preparing for the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

“I am not saying this because I am a Muslim. Alhaji Ejide also extended this kind gesture to Christians, traditional worshippers and several organisations. May Almighty God continue to bless and strengthen him to do more for humanity,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Pa Jibril Lawal, also expressed gratitude to the philanthropist and prayed for good health, peace, joy and long life for him.

“This is not the first time Alhaji Ejide is doing this. It has become part of his lifestyle. Beyond these monetary donations, he also offers scholarships and other forms of assistance to many people. He has remained a pillar of support for the poor and vulnerable in society,” Pa Lawal stated.

Several other beneficiaries equally offered prayers for continued growth, success and divine blessings for the Ejide Islamic Foundation and its founder, describing the intervention as a shining example of compassion, selflessness and community service.
