The Ajayi Crowther Research Centre (ACRC) of Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) has announced plans to hold its second webinar series themed: “Reimagining Family and Community Identity: Lessons from the Life and Times of Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther.”
The virtual event will be held on Thursday, 30th April 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and aims to bring together scholars, clergy, and community leaders to explore how the legacy of the renowned bishop can reshape contemporary family values and community development.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, is the Chief Host of the webinar.
Leading the discourse is a distinguished panel of facilitators, such as, Rt. Revd Sunday Timothy Adewole, Ph.D. – who will speak on “The Impact of Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther’s Name on Church, Family Identity and Values”; Prof. Ezekiel Ayinde Alani – presenting “Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther’s Legacy: Shaping Family Values and Identity for Community Development”; and Mr. Femi Macaulay – addressing “A Good Name is Better Than Riches: The Name of Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther in Shaping Family Values and Ideals.”
The webinar aims to draw practical lessons from Crowther’s exemplary life, from his capture as a slave boy to becoming the first African Anglican bishop, to inspire a redefinition of modern family and community identity.
