Federal Polytechnic Ayede took a significant step forward in its developmental journey as the Governing Council, led by its Chairman, Honourable Yakubu Dati, embarked on a strategic inspection tour of the institution’s permanent site in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The visit drew widespread commendation from staff, community stakeholders, and management, who lauded the Council’s active involvement as a strong indication of its commitment to excellence, accountability, and sustainable growth.
Rector of the Polytechnic, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, described the tour as both timely and visionary. He praised Honourable Dati’s inspiring leadership and highlighted the Council’s crucial role in the Polytechnic’s early successes, including the growth of student enrollment from zero to over one thousand within a short period.
“The presence of the Governing Council at our permanent site today is a bold statement that we are not just dreaming—we are building. This is the kind of leadership institutions hope for—intentional, supportive, and forward-thinking,” the Rector stated.
Honourable Dati, a seasoned public servant and former commissioner, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development. He reiterated the Council’s resolve to fast-track infrastructural and academic progress.
“Our goal is clear—to support this Polytechnic to rise as a centre of innovation and industry-ready graduates. We are not here to observe; we are here to act, to guide, and to bring the founding vision to life,” he affirmed.
The Polytechnic community extended profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the institution, acknowledging the move as transformative for Ayede and its surrounding communities.
Special recognition was also given to the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Yusuf Tunji Alausa; the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Professor Idris Bugaje; and the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, for their unwavering support and resource allocation toward the Polytechnic’s development.
Stakeholders used the opportunity to call on indigenes of Ogbomoso and residents of Oyo State to support the institution through community-driven initiatives, including road infrastructure, hostel development, social amenities, and scholarship programs.
“This institution is not just a federal presence; it is a community treasure. Supporting its growth means opening doors of opportunity, empowerment, and transformation for generations to come,” a stakeholder noted.
The visit concluded on a high note, reinforcing a collective resolve for unity, progress, and accelerated development under the dynamic leadership of Honourable Yakubu Dati and with continued backing from the Federal Government.
