The Oyo State Government has officially ratified the appointment of Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun as the Balogun of Ogbomosoland.
The decision follows a nomination endorsed by the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, who serves as the consenting authority for the chieftaincy title, being one of the Ilu (cabinet) Chiefs and kingmakers.
The state government’s approval was conveyed in an official letter signed by Mr. A. O. Oladotun, Coordinating Director of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters (MLG&CM). The document, titled “Public Service Announcement on the Appointment of Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun as Balogun of Ogbomosoland”, confirmed that the appointment took effect from April 28, 2025.
“I am directed to respectfully forward herewith the Public Service Announcement in respect of the recent approval by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, of the nomination and appointment of Dr. Saka Adegbite Balogun as the Balogun of Ogbomosoland, effective from 28 April, 2025,” the letter stated.
It further emphasized the need for wide dissemination of the announcement, urging relevant authorities to ensure the information receives broad publicity through appropriate media channels.
