As part of his ongoing consultation on the 25-year developmental roadmap for Ogbomosoland, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, is set to hold a town hall meeting with residents of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

The engagement, scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Anglican Grammar School Hall, follows the maiden session held on Thursday, June 12, at the Lagbami Osekun Civic Centre, Ogbomoso South Secretariat.

The town hall meetings are designed to foster inclusive dialogue between the monarch and the people at the grassroots level across the five local government areas that make up Ogbomosoland. The initiative reflects Oba Olaoye’s commitment to participatory governance and collaborative development.

Oba Olaoye, who recently unveiled a visionary 25-year development plan for the region, is keen on ensuring that all stakeholders—traditional institutions, elites, and the general public—are carried along in the actualization of a Greater Ogbomoso.

While the monarch has previously engaged professionals and the elite class through various platforms, the town hall series seeks to deepen public involvement by welcoming ideas, opinions, and contributions from residents across all walks of life.

According to the Special Assistant on Media and Community Relations, Mr. Peter Olaleye, the meetings are open to all indigenes and non-indigenes who reside in Ogbomoso and are invested in the progress of the town.

“The Kabiyesi believes that development must be inclusive and people-driven. These meetings will serve as a platform to share ideas, identify priorities, and strengthen communal unity as we work toward a shared vision,” Olaleye stated.

Dates and venues for town hall sessions in the remaining local government areas will be communicated in due course.

Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye remains resolute in his mission to transform Ogbomoso into a thriving, 21st-century city, and calls on all sons and daughters of the land to participate actively in shaping its future.
