The Federal Government has terminated the contract for the 98km Oyo-Ogbomoso road, previously awarded to RCC Construction Company.
Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, announced the decision on Thursday during the Oyo Federal Roads Stakeholders’ Engagement in Ibadan, themed Enhancing Federal Roads in Oyo State: Challenges and Sustainable Solutions.
Umahi stated that the project had been long overdue but assured the public that it would soon be re-awarded to a new contractor.
Stakeholders at the event expressed concerns that the road’s prolonged non-completion has hindered economic growth in the area and Oyo State as a whole.
