The Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly and lawmaker representing Ogbomoso South State Constituency, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, has successfully facilitated the return of several aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had previously defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In a statement issued on Monday and made available to Pan-Nigerian News by his Senior Legislative Assistant on Media Strategy and Public Communication, Mr. Adéyemí Mikky Arẹmu, Hon. Adedoyin was commended for his instrumental role in the reconciliation and reintegration process.

According to the statement, Hon. Adedoyin hosted a special meeting with the former SDP members, during which they formally announced their return to the PDP. The meeting was described as a significant step toward healing divisions and strengthening party unity in Ogbomoso South.
“What seemed like an illusion or impossibility became reality yesterday,” Adedoyin remarked. “In my pragmatic, people-oriented approach to politics and bridge-building, I hosted and welcomed former SDP members and their executive back to the PDP.”
The defectors, identified as loyal supporters of former Majority Leader of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Alhaja Mulikat Akande-Adeola, were likened in the statement to “free transfers” brokered by influential football agents — an allusion to the political maneuvering and negotiations that led to their return.
Hon. Adedoyin noted that the returnees, who were part of the foundational structure of the PDP in Ogbomoso South, were convinced to return due to his consistent performance, open-door leadership style, and commitment to politics without bitterness or prejudice.
He praised the decision of the returnees, saying, “There is no place like home, regardless of the differences or past grievances. I assure you of justice, equity, and fairness as you reintegrate into the party.”
The former SDP members were advised to return to their various wards for full reintegration and to contribute to grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections. They, in turn, pledged to begin attending ward and local meetings as part of their renewed commitment to the PDP.
