Nigeria is a nation abundantly blessed with mineral resources and vast potential. To maintain its status as the “Giant of Africa” and a respected nation in the global community, it must prioritize the welfare of its citizens. This assertion was made by a political gladiator and philanthropist from Ogbomoso South Local Government Area of Oyo State, Honourable Abdul-Jeleel Ajibola Olawale.

Hon. Ajibola emphasized that a country that prioritizes the well-being of its people will continue to thrive without crises or unrest, enjoying peace and stability. Speaking in an interview at his residence after the Wolimat (Islamic graduation) ceremony of his first son, Prince Faeez Ajibola, he stated that in these austere times, when Nigeria is undergoing a crucial phase of political and economic stability, prayer, compassion, and a spirit of generosity towards the less privileged are essential.

He appealed to the affluent members of society to fulfill their responsibility of supporting the poor by sharing their wealth. He stressed that acts of generosity bring divine rewards and contribute to societal harmony, especially in a period when many Nigerians struggle to make ends meet.

The proprietor of Ola-Ajeeb Water Factory expressed optimism that Nigeria will rise again, urging citizens to pray fervently for economic prosperity so that poverty and suffering can become things of the past.

In another development, Prince Olawale encouraged all Nigerians—both the wealthy and the less privileged—to explore alternative means of survival beyond salaries. He emphasized that in challenging times like these, individuals seeking financial stability should embrace agriculture, whether on a commercial or subsistence level.

He described agriculture as the backbone of any serious nation and stressed the need to give it priority. According to him, combining farming with other sources of livelihood ensures a more stable and fulfilling life. He urged people to utilize available spaces within their homes to plant essential crops such as vegetables, peppers, okra, and jute, which would help reduce daily expenses on food.

For those with limited space, he suggested innovative farming techniques, such as using old baskets, sacks, cement bags, and pots to cultivate edible crops like yam, water yam, potatoes, and cocoyam. Engaging in farming, he said, would enable families to overcome hunger and food scarcity.

In his concluding remarks, Prince Olawale made a passionate appeal to the government and political officeholders to prioritize the welfare of the masses. He urged them to invest in youth empowerment by sponsoring vocational training programmes, providing financial aid for small-scale businesses, and ensuring free healthcare services.

He noted that such initiatives would significantly reduce crime rates, including kidnapping and ritual killings, which have become rampant in the country. By focusing on these social responsibilities, Nigeria can pave the way for a more secure and prosperous future.
