As the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) approaches, Sir Olusegun Adéyemí Adékúnlé, President of Ogbomoso First Group (“O” First), has called on parents and guardians in Ogbomoso and across Oyo State to encourage their children to prepare diligently

The examination, set to take place from April 25 to May 4, 2025, is a crucial step in securing admission into Nigerian universities, Polytechnics, and colleges of education.

Emphasizing the importance of education as a gateway to success, Sir Adékúnlé described it as the key that unlocks new opportunities, fosters hope, and paves the way for a brighter future. He highlighted the numerous advantages of excelling in the UTME, noting that higher education enhances job prospects, increases earning potential, and provides diverse career opportunities.

“A good education is one of the greatest gifts parents can give their children,” Sir Adékúnlé stated. “Writing and passing JAMB with outstanding results open doors to scholarships, grants, and international study opportunities. Even if a student does not gain immediate university admission, a valid JAMB result remains useful for future academic pursuits.”

The retired but active Federal Government Permanent Secretary also underscored the non-academic benefits of preparing for JAMB. He noted that the process instills discipline, time management, and critical thinking skills—qualities that are valuable in all aspects of life.

With the UTME fast approaching, Sir Adékúnlé’s message serves as a clarion call for students to take their studies seriously and strive for excellence in the forthcoming examination.
