The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Branch, Ogbomoso, will today, Thursday, September 17, 2026, honour prominent Ogbomoso businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Monsur Ayoade Ejide, with its Iconic Distinguished Leadership in Business and Philanthropy Award.
Ejide will receive the prestigious recognition during the association’s maiden public lecture, themed: “Emerging Digital Transformation for the Advancement of Nigerian Universities through Innovative Funding Models: The Strategic Role of Key Stakeholders.”
According to a release issued by SSANU, the award is being conferred on Ejide in recognition of his outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment to the welfare of staff in Nigerian universities, and remarkable contributions to advancing the cause of equity, justice and dignity within the university system.
The recognition also underscores the importance of individuals and organisations whose interventions extend beyond business and contribute meaningfully to the welfare of people and the development of institutions.
The SSANU-LAUTECH Branch public lecture is expected to provide an important platform for stakeholders to examine emerging digital transformation trends and innovative approaches to funding Nigerian universities, as well as the strategic responsibilities of government, university authorities, staff unions, private-sector players and other stakeholders.
The award presentation and public lecture will take place at 10:00 a.m. at The Great Hall, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.
The event is expected to attract university stakeholders, academics, labour leaders, business personalities, philanthropists and members of the wider Ogbomoso community.
