The 2027 governorship campaign of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has received a major organisational boost with the appointment of the Federal Commissioner representing Ogun State on the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun, as Deputy Director for Ogun Central Senatorial District.

Amosun is among the 74 members appointed to the campaign council charged with coordinating the political mobilisation and grassroots activities of the Yayi governorship project ahead of the 2027 election.
His appointment is being interpreted within political circles as an acknowledgment of his growing influence and organisational capacity, particularly his involvement in grassroots mobilisation and political coordination across Ogun Central.
The new campaign council member has, in recent months, been actively involved in a series of consultations and mobilisation activities involving political coordinators, party members, community leaders, youths and other stakeholders across Abeokuta South and other parts of the senatorial district.
The engagements have focused on strengthening grassroots structures, improving coordination among supporters and expanding the political network backing Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition.
Amosun’s political activities have also extended beyond conventional campaign rallies. He has been associated with empowerment programmes, educational interventions and various forms of support for vulnerable and elderly members of his political constituency, alongside regular meetings and consultations at the grassroots.
Political associates say his approach reflects a belief that sustainable political mobilisation requires continuous interaction with the people, effective organisation and attention to community-level concerns.
With the 2027 election approaching and political activities expected to intensify, Amosun’s appointment is expected to add further impetus to the Yayi campaign’s mobilisation efforts in Ogun Central.
As Deputy Director for the senatorial district, he is expected to work alongside other members of the campaign council and relevant stakeholders in consolidating existing structures, coordinating grassroots activities and broadening support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola’s bid for the Ogun State governorship in 2027.
