Ttruck accident occurred early Wednesday morning along the Odo-Oru City Expressway in Ogbomoso, causing significant traffic disruption and leaving several people injured.

The incident happened at approximately 6:24 a.m. According to an eyewitness, Mr. Olawale Oladimeji—driver of a stationary lorry involved in the collision—the accident was caused by an oncoming truck whose driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel.
Mr. Oladimeji told ScoopChase that his vehicle had been parked along Trunk A of the expressway in preparation for an early morning trip when the speeding truck rammed into it from behind.
“Suddenly, we just heard a loud crash. The truck driver must have dozed off while driving. He couldn’t control the vehicle, and it slammed into us unexpectedly,” he recounted.
Although no fatalities were recorded, several individuals sustained varying degrees of injury. In addition, multiple cartons of packaged beverages being transported in Mr. Oladimeji’s lorry were severely damaged in the crash.
The affected driver and his team have since reported the incident to the police, who are expected to arrive at the scene to assess the situation and coordinate the removal of the wrecked vehicles and goods, in order to restore the free flow of traffic. Meanwhile, the injured have been taken to hospitals within the town for treatment.
Residents and motorists have expressed growing concern over the rising number of road accidents along the expressway. They are calling for improved road safety measures, stricter enforcement of driver rest regulations, and better surveillance of long-distance truck operations to prevent future incidents.
