The Sounof Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, has appointed Rev. Samuel Oluwatosin Owoade as the first-ever Chaplain of the Ogbomoso Palace.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the monarch’s Coordinating Assistant on Media and Community Relations, Rev. Peter Olaleye.
According to the statement, Rev. Owoade’s appointment is aimed at coordinating Christian worship services within the palace. Oba Olaoye made this known during a recent meeting with the leadership of the Heads of Churches and the Christian Association of Nigeria.
“His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, has, in accordance with the leading of the Holy Spirit, appointed Rev. Samuel Oluwatosin Owoade as the Chaplain of the Palace after extensive consultations,” the statement read.
The monarch emphasized that this appointment is part of an effort to enhance the organization of religious activities within the palace. With the presence of a Palace Chief Imam, a Palace Chaplain, and the Araba Oluawo, religious affairs in the palace will be more structured and efficiently managed.
“Kabiyesi believes this development will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of spiritual engagements within the palace, ensuring prompt coordination of religious activities,” Rev. Olaleye added.
While congratulating the new chaplain, Oba Olaoye urged him to uphold the responsibilities of his office as outlined in his appointment letter.
About Rev. Owoade
Before his appointment, Rev. Owoade served as the Minister-in-Charge at New Covenant Baptist Church, Aduin, Ogbomoso.
He received his early education in Ondo and Ogbomoso, completing his secondary studies at Baptist Secondary Grammar School, Ahoyaya, Ogbomoso. His academic journey includes:

Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso – B.Th. in Missiology, 2016

Additionally, he obtained a Certificate and Diploma in Computer Science from Faith Education Ministry (2004) and Dapson Computer Institute (2006), respectively.
Rev. Owoade is married to Mrs. Folake Eunice Owoade, a Principal Nursing Officer at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. They are blessed with children.
With extensive experience in religious leadership, he has served in various capacities within the Baptist Students Fellowship, Baptist Associations, different churches, and the Christian Association of Nigeria.
His appointment takes immediate effect.
