Seven outstanding Nigerian graduates have been awarded the fully funded NLNG Special 35th/25th Anniversary Postgraduate Scholarship to pursue advanced studies in the United Kingdom.
The beneficiaries, selected through a rigorous process, will begin their programmes in the 2025/2026 academic session. They will join NLNG’s distinguished network of scholars equipped with world-class education, advanced knowledge, and critical skills for leadership and professional excellence.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Sophia Horsfall, General Manager, External Relations & Sustainable Development, said the scheme underscores NLNG’s commitment to sustainable development through human capital investment.
“Through this programme, NLNG continues to demonstrate its commitment to building capacity for Nigeria’s future. These scholars represent the best of Nigeria’s talent, and we are proud to support their journey towards global excellence,” she stated.
The awardees will pursue master’s degrees in key fields such as Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy Management, Advanced Chemical Engineering, Marine and Offshore Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy Systems, Industrial Robotics, and Advanced Structural Engineering.
Horsfall emphasized that the initiative aligns with NLNG’s vision of inspiring a sustainable future by preparing the next generation of leaders and innovators to drive national growth and global competitiveness.
Since its inception, the NLNG Postgraduate Scholarship has produced 523 graduates across various disciplines, creating a global network of professionals driving impact in industries and communities. The scholarship covers tuition, living expenses, accommodation, travel, and other academic-related costs.
This edition of the award commemorates NLNG’s 35 years of incorporation and 25 years of successful operation. Beyond the postgraduate scheme, NLNG also runs Undergraduate and Post-Primary Scholarship programmes, alongside interventions in education, infrastructure, health, and economic empowerment.
