Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a major shake-up in the leadership of Nigeria’s Armed Forces, appointing new Service Chiefs in a strategic move to enhance national security and military efficiency.
According to an official statement, General Olufemi Oluyede has been named the new Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding General Christopher Musa. Other key appointments include Major-General W. Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff.

The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye, retains his position.
President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and other departing Service Chiefs for their dedicated service and commitment to the nation.
The newly appointed Service Chiefs have been directed to strengthen professionalism, discipline, and vigilance within the Armed Forces to ensure the safety and stability of Nigeria.
The appointments take immediate effect.
