The Kaduna State Police Command has invited former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and several top members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for questioning over alleged criminal conspiracy, incitement of public disturbance, mischief, and causing grievous hurt.
In a letter dated September 4, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Uzainu Abdullahi, the ADC Kaduna State Chairman was directed to produce El-Rufai and six other party members at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8, 2025.

hose listed in the invitation include Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (popularly known as “30”), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (also called “Mikiya”).
The police letter, titled Investigation Activities: Case of Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance of Public Peace, Mischief and Causing Grievous Hurt, stated that the individuals were required to clarify allegations lodged against them by complainants.
While details of the petition remain unclear, the police stressed that the invitation formed part of ongoing investigative measures to maintain peace and order in the state.
Earlier on Thursday, security operatives sealed off the ADC state office at No. 4 Ali Akilu Road, Kaduna, just hours before the North-West leadership of the party was scheduled to pay a sympathy visit to members allegedly attacked by political thugs last week.
Eyewitnesses reported heavy police presence around the premises, with several patrol vans deployed to restrict access to the opposition party’s office.
Last week, SaharaReporters had reported that suspected government-backed thugs attacked a coalition meeting of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the ADC in Kaduna. The meeting, reportedly convened under El-Rufai’s leadership, was disrupted at the NUT Endwell Conference Hall in Magadishu Layout.
The attackers allegedly injured several members, destroyed vehicles—including El-Rufai’s—and damaged parts of the conference hall, despite the presence of armed policemen deployed to stop the gathering.
Sources claimed that the state government had pressured several event centres to cancel earlier bookings made by the opposition.
“This is an indication of the bloody politics that lie ahead, heralding the political squabble between El-Rufai and his former godson, Governor Uba Sani,” a party insider disclosed.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the ADC in the state, Yusuf Shehu Bello, has dragged the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police before the Federal High Court, Kaduna, over alleged unlawful restrictions on political gatherings.
Through his counsel, Barrister Farouk Dikko, Bello filed an interlocutory injunction seeking to restrain the police from suspending, disrupting, or interfering with political meetings in public places or hotels across the state.
