Three men have been arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly possessing and selling suspected human parts, following a stop-and-search operation by the Oyo State Police Command.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka. According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended during a routine patrol along the Adekile area of Agugu, where officers intercepted an unregistered Bajaj Boxer motorcycle.

During the search, the rider was immediately apprehended, while a package containing flesh suspected to be human parts, believed to be intestines, was recovered from the pillion rider.
The suspect, identified as Oyategbe Joseph, a resident of Ibadan, was subsequently interrogated. He reportedly confessed to obtaining the suspected human parts from an unidentified individual at the Oritaperin area. He further admitted to selling the items to two individuals — Alfa Onaolapo Taiwo, 46, and Pastor Ayodele Taiwo, 55.
Acting on the information, police operatives swiftly arrested the two alleged buyers and brought them in for questioning. Both men reportedly confessed to purchasing the suspected human parts from Oyategbe Joseph.
The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State has ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a discreet and thorough investigation. He added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
All three suspects are currently in police custody.
The Oyo State Police Command has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, particularly those related to the possession or sale of human parts, to the nearest police station. The Command emphasized that community cooperation remains vital in maintaining law and order.
