People from all walks of life on Sunday converged on Ola – Oluwa Baptist Church, Randa Area, Ogbomoso to commemorate the one-year remembrance and thanksgiving service in honour of the late Deaconess Olubola Egunbiyi, whose life of faith and service continues to inspire many.

Officiating the special service, the church minister, Reverend Dr. Olusegun Ige, expressed profound joy and gratitude to the husband of the deceased, Mr. Bayo Egunbiyi, their children, relatives, friends, and associates for organising the remembrance and thanksgiving in her honour. He noted that the enduring memory of the late Deaconess remains “sweet” because she dedicated her entire life to serving God and humanity.

Reverend Dr. Ige described the late Deaconess as a woman who lived and died in Christ, adding that her godly life is a testimony that continues to speak even after her passing. He reminded the congregation of the fleeting nature of human life, urging everyone to embrace Jesus Christ and live purposefully, just as the late Deaconess did.

In support of the church’s work, the Egunbiyi family, led by the deceased’s eldest son, Mr. Abayomi donated two professional speakers to enhance worship and church activities. Appreciating the gesture, Reverend Dr. Ige described the donation as a worthy contribution to the advancement of God’s work and prayed for divine guidance, protection, and increased prosperity for the family.

At the graveside, Reverend Dr. Ige reiterated the inevitability of death, stressing that everyone born of a woman will one day answer the final call. He charged those present to live their lives wholly for God, noting that the late Deaconess Olubola Egunbiyi served God and humanity selflessly, as attested to by members of her church in Lagos and the many families she positively impacted during her lifetime. He added that while death is irreversible and money cannot buy life, the good deeds of the departed continue to live on.

In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Bisola Osoba, daughter of the deceased, expressed deep appreciation to all who travelled from far and near to honour the memory of her mother. She prayed that God would grant everyone journey mercies back to their various destinations.

Dignitaries present at the one-year remembrance included Otunba Bayo Babatunde, Engineer Akinloye Oyekola and his wife, Dr. Dejo Akanni, among many others who came to celebrate the enduring legacy of a life well spent in service to God and humanity.
