The Golf Section of the Ogbomoso Recreation Club has expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the donation of a brand-new tractor and slasher valued at ₦123 million to the club’s golf course.
The high-capacity maintenance equipment, which has been successfully delivered, was formally handed over on behalf of the governor by the Chairman, Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency Engr. Muftau Open Salau. The donation is expected to significantly enhance the maintenance capacity and overall quality of the Ogbomoso Golf Course.
Speaking on behalf of the club, the Captain of the Golf Section, Mr. Adeyinka Aderibigbe, described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that it reflects Governor Makinde’s strong commitment to sports development, recreation, and community wellbeing across Oyo State.
He said the tractor and slasher would greatly improve course maintenance operations, boost efficiency, and enhance the playing experience for golfers and visitors alike.
Mr. Aderibigbe also commended Engr. Muftau Open Salau for his role in facilitating the smooth delivery of the equipment, while acknowledging the unity, support, and sustained efforts of members of the Ogbomoso Recreation Club in bringing the project to fruition.
He assured that the Golf Section would deploy the equipment responsibly and sustainably, in line with the club’s commitment to high standards of sportsmanship, facility management, and community engagement.
The Ogbomoso Recreation Club Golf Section reiterated its gratitude to the Oyo State Government for the gesture, describing it as a clear demonstration of goodwill and responsive leadership.
