The President of the Ogbomoso First Group, Architect Sakiru Suara, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a renowned Nigerian war hero, Col. Adegboyega Adeniran (retd), describing him as a true patriot, disciplinarian and exemplary soldier who devoted his life to the service of the nation.
In a condolence message made available to journalists, Architect Suara said the passing of the retired army officer marked a significant loss not only to the Adeniran family and Ogbomoso land but also to Nigeria, which benefited immensely from his courage and selfless service, particularly during the Nigerian Civil War.

According to the statement, Col. Adeniran distinguished himself through bravery, discipline and unwavering commitment to national unity and security at a critical period in the country’s history. “He was more than a soldier in uniform; he was a symbol of sacrifice, loyalty and patriotism. His contributions during wartime remain a source of pride to his family, Ogbomoso and the nation at large,” the group president stated.
Architect Suara further noted that beyond his military exploits, the late officer was a devoted family man and a moral compass to many within and outside his immediate family. He described him as a man of integrity, resilience and strong values, whose disciplined lifestyle and mentorship continue to reflect in the lives of his children and those he influenced.
While commiserating with the Adeniran family and the entire people of Ogbomoso, the Ogbomoso First Group president acknowledged the deep pain and vacuum created by the loss of a father, elder statesman and community pillar. He, however, urged the family to take solace in the enduring legacy of honour, service and sacrifice the late soldier left behind.
“A man who dedicated the prime of his life to defending his country and nurturing a disciplined family has truly lived a life of purpose and fulfilment,” the statement added.
Architect Suara also assured the family of the group’s support throughout the period of mourning, pledging prayers, solidarity and moral backing. “We stand with the family of Col. Adegboyega Adeniran in this difficult time and assure them that they are not alone,” he said.
He prayed for divine comfort and strength for the bereaved family and asked God to grant the departed officer eternal rest. The statement concluded by honouring the memory of Col. Adeniran as a true Nigerian hero whose life of service and sacrifice will continue to inspire younger generations to embrace patriotism, selflessness and service to humanity.
