Hon. Femi Onireti has congratulated the Government and people of Oyo State on the occasion of the state’s 50th anniversary, describing the milestone as a remarkable celebration of vision, perseverance, and sustained development across all facets of statehood.
In a statement released to commemorate the golden jubilee, Onireti noted that the last five decades have witnessed steady growth in governance, education, social harmony, and political maturity, positioning Oyo State as a model of progress and stability. He praised the resilience of the people and the collective sacrifices that have shaped the state into a thriving entity within the federation.
According to Onireti, the anniversary presents an opportunity to reflect on past achievements while renewing commitment to building a more prosperous and inclusive future. He acknowledged the contributions of past leaders, traditional institutions, professionals, and citizens whose efforts laid the foundation upon which current successes are built.
Hon. Femi Onireti particularly commended the incumbent Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his visionary and people-centered leadership, noting that the administration has elevated the state to an enviable position through strategic investments and purposeful governance. He highlighted major strides recorded in infrastructure development, renewable energy initiatives, educational reform, agricultural modernization, and extensive road construction and reconstruction projects connecting communities and boosting economic activities.
He further applauded the governor’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system, promoting environmental sustainability, and implementing policies that enhance social welfare and economic inclusion. Onireti stressed that the prevailing atmosphere of peace, political stability, and transparency in governance across the state reflects the administration’s dedication to accountability and service delivery.
“As Oyo State marks 50 years of existence, the present leadership has demonstrated the capacity to consolidate past gains while boldly charting a path toward sustainable development and shared prosperity,” Onireti stated.
He therefore called on political actors, community leaders, traditional rulers, youths, women groups, and other stakeholders to rally round the governor and continue to support his mass-oriented governance agenda. According to him, sustained unity and cooperation remain vital to the consolidation of development and democratic values in the state.
Hon. Femi Onireti concluded by wishing the Governor and the entire people of Oyo State a joyous and memorable 50th anniversary celebration, expressing confidence that the years ahead will usher in greater peace, progress, and prosperity for present and future generations.
