The Federal Government has approved an upward review of the fees for the Nigerian passport, effective September 1, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the spokesman of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), A.S. Akinlabi.

According to the statement, the review affects only passport applications made within Nigeria. Under the new fee structure, the 32-page passport with a five-year validity will now cost ₦100,000, while the 64-page passport with a 10-year validity will cost ₦200,000.
However, passport application fees for Nigerians in the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for the 32-page, five-year validity, and $230 for the 64-page, 10-year validity.
Akinlabi explained that the increment aims to safeguard the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, while the Service reiterated its commitment to balancing improved service delivery with accessibility for all Nigerians.
