Renowned philanthropist and community leader, Alhaji Monsur Ayoade Ejide, has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing education with the donation of essential equipment to the Psychology Laboratory of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
The brief handover ceremony, held at the Department of Psychology on Thursday, witnessed the formal presentation of the equipment to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu. The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Olufunmilayo Adedoyin Oyinlola, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Professor Frank Ebijuwa, and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Ejide, a childhood friend of the Vice Chancellor, reiterated his readiness to continue supporting the institution’s growth and development. He noted that his intervention was part of a broader commitment to educational advancement, recalling his earlier donation of a multimillion-naira, state-of-the-art bakery facility to the university.
He further disclosed that his family intends to make its support to the Department of Psychology consistent, while also extending assistance to other areas of need within the institution.
In his remarks, Professor Kalilu expressed profound appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a significant boost to the development of the department and the university at large. He also commended Professor S. K. Balogun for his contributions to the rapid growth of the Psychology Department within a short period.
The Vice Chancellor assured that the university would continue to recognize and celebrate the contributions of individuals and partners who support its mission of academic excellence.
