It was an electrifying atmosphere at the finals of the 2025 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League, staged inside the picturesque sports hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The five-day championship, featuring the top eight teams, delivered shocks, drama, and top-class basketball from the very first jump ball. It climaxed with a fiercely contested title game between nine-time champions First Bank and the in-form Dolphins, who sealed their determination with an impressive 61–55 victory to lift the coveted trophy.

During the well-attended finale, an elated President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), Engineer (Dr.) Ahmadu Musa Kida, expressed delight at the near-flawless organization of the event. He also lauded Zenith Bank for its unwavering sponsorship of the women’s premier basketball league for over 18 years.
Also present was the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, who commended the NBBF for hosting a successful championship and applauded Zenith Bank for its longstanding support, which he noted has greatly advanced the growth of basketball in Nigeria.
Players and officials alike showered praise on the organisers, NBBF, and sponsors Zenith Bank, acknowledging the invaluable platform created for them to excel and showcase their talents.
