Prominent personalities from diverse walks of life on Saturday, February 14, converged in Ogbomosoland to witness this year’s Ifá Ìwòrì Bògbè Festival, organised by Dr. Dejo Akanni in honour of his late father, Pa. Sangodokun Akanni.
The annual spiritual gathering taken place at Ojude Abese, Okelerin, Ogbomoso was marked by splendour and pageantry, as Ifá devotees from across Ogbomosoland adorned the venue, creating a vibrant blend of devotion, culture, and celebration. The atmosphere was enlivened with traditional rites, colourful attires, and a sense of communal reverence.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Akanni explained that the festival was organised as a form of supplication to Almighty God for enduring peace, progress, and holistic development of Ogbomoso. He noted that prayers were also offered for the stability of the Soun’s throne, emphasizing the need for sustained tranquility and economic growth across the land. According to him, attendance at the Ifá festival comes with assurances of abundant grace, blessings, and bountiful prosperity in the year ahead.
Also speaking during the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Irorun Agbe Farm Booster, Prince Tunde Irorun Agbe, expressed gratitude to God for the success of the festival. He commended Dr. Akanni for his generosity and mentorship, describing him as a man of goodwill who is passionate about helping others succeed and live fulfilled lives.
The event was further enlivened by musical performances from popular Ogbomoso Fuji musician Ragamuffin, who thrilled guests with captivating renditions.
Among dignitaries in attendance were Prince Fatai Oyewumi, Mrs. Rebecca Ogundare, Mr. Gbenga Kayode, Prince Kolapo Oyadiran, Mr. Bayo Otunla, Mrs. Ladun Adeomi, and Mrs. Awujoola Odekunbi, among others.
The festival once again reaffirmed the cultural and spiritual significance of Ifá worship in promoting unity, moral values, and communal development in Ogbomosoland.
