The birthday of Dr. Sunday Oyewo was held yesterday at his residence in Iresadu, Surulere Local Government Area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State. The colourful event was jointly anchored by Mr. Blessing Ogundele and Mr. Omotosho Ishola Akorede (popularly known as Last Kongo), who warmly welcomed and introduced the invited guests.

A cleric, Pastor Isaiah, led an opening prayer, thanking God for the celebrant’s life and for the support of his family in making the occasion successful.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were Hon. Jide Oketunbi, the D.P.O. and D.C.O. of Iresadu Division, Professor Akinpelu, the Balogun of Iresadu, the Ikolaba of Iresadu, the Bara of Iresadu, Dr. Sunday Oyedele, the Akogun of Iresadu, wife of the celebrant – Mrs. Kemi Oyewo, family members, friends, and well-wishers from within and outside the state, including those in the diaspora.
A highlight of the event was the goodwill messages from guests. Professor Akinpelu praised Dr. Oyewo as a generous and kindhearted man he had known since their school days, noting his exemplary character and enduring friendship. Mrs. Kemi Oyewo described her husband as a gentle, God-fearing man who uses his resources to uplift others, likening him to “an ATM” who gives freely to bring smiles to people’s faces.
Family, friends, and community members also showered encomiums on “Prince” Sunday Oyewo, describing him as a man with a humane heart, one who touches lives regardless of religion or politics.
Another exciting moment was the celebrant’s dance with his wife, accompanied by the Covenant Glorious Band, while guests captured memorable photographs with him.
In his vote of thanks, Dr. Oyewo expressed heartfelt appreciation to everyone who celebrated with him, especially the chiefs of Iresadu, for their support and prayers for him and his family.
