Abeokuta, the historic city beneath the towering Olumo Rock, is set to host dignitaries from across Nigeria on Friday, November 28, 2025, as Hon. Akeem Akintayo Amosun (MBA, FCIB, FCS), Federal Commissioner at the Revenue Allocation, Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission (RAMFC), bids farewell to his late mother.

Madam Motomori Abake Amosun passed on Wednesday, October 9, 2025, and her son — a vibrant, grassroots politician known for his people-centred ideology, “My People, My Priority” and “Àwọn Èníyàn Mi Lo Jẹ́ Mi Lógùn” — has been reaching out to associates, friends, and political leaders nationwide to honour the memory of a “mother in a million.”
Reflecting on her impact on his life, Amosun described his mother as the pillar behind his character and success.
“If Akeem keeps expanding the frontiers of friendship, give the credit to my parents,” he said. “We all know the importance of a mother’s role. I am who I am today because of this peace-loving and remarkably accommodating angel whose doors were always open to everyone. Nothing can be too much to honour her labour of love, her ceaseless prayers, and the Omoluabi values that define my loyal supporters and political associates.”
The grand finale of the funeral ceremonies will take place at the Em Felix Event and Conference Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta. The event will be anchored by ace broadcaster and veteran thespian, Yemi Sodimu.
A long list of high-profile guests is expected, including political leaders, former governors and deputy governors, members of the National and State Assemblies, federal and state commissioners, as well as other dignitaries from within and outside Ogun State.
