A member of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Alhaji Rasak Gbadegesin Kareem, has resigned his appointment from the advisory body constituted by Governor Seyi Makinde.

In a resignation letter dated July 6, 2026, and personally signed by him, Kareem conveyed his decision to the governor through the Chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN).

Kareem, a former Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Government during the administration of former Governor Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Makinde for the confidence reposed in him and the opportunity to serve on the state’s highest advisory body.

He described his membership of the council as a privilege, noting that it afforded him the opportunity to contribute, in his modest capacity, to the growth, progress and overall development of Oyo State.

In the letter, Kareem thanked the governor for the trust placed in him throughout his tenure and wished the administration continued success in delivering good governance to the people of the state.

He also prayed for wisdom and strength for Governor Makinde as he continues to steer the affairs of Oyo State, while assuring the governor of his highest regards.

The resignation letter did not state the reason for his decision to step down from the Advisory Council.
