The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Friday produced Hon. Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as “Booda Sunday,” as its consensus candidate who will represent Ogbomoso South Local Goverment constituency for the Oyo State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The primary election, which took place at Ijeru Primary School, was conducted peacefully and without any form of rancour or acrimony, as party faithful gathered to affirm the candidature of the popular grassroots politician.
The exercise was witnessed by representatives of the ADC from Oyo State, the local government party chairman, as well as other party executives and stakeholders, who commended the peaceful conduct of the primary process.
Booda Sunday emerged unopposed following the unanimous endorsement of party leaders and delegates, a development many supporters described as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership ability and commitment to grassroots development.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, the ADC flag bearer expressed gratitude to God for sparing his life and granting him the grace to witness the historic moment.
He also appreciated party leaders, executives, and supporters for finding him worthy of the consensus arrangement, describing the development as a demonstration of the trust and confidence the people have in him.
According to him, the support and unity displayed during the primary election have further strengthened his determination to serve the people diligently and attract meaningful development to the constituency.
Booda Sunday assured party members and residents that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him if elected into office during the 2027 General Election.
He pledged to provide quality representation, prioritize the welfare of the people, and facilitate unprecedented development and dividends of democracy across the constituency.
“The outcome of this primary election, which saw me emerge victoriously without opposition, clearly reflects the unity, collective commitment, and determination of our party leaders and supporters towards progress and quality representation,” he stated.
Party stakeholders at the event also described the peaceful and transparent process as a sign of growing unity within the ADC, expressing optimism that the party would record significant victories in the forthcoming general elections.
