Glo Partners Cubecover to Introduce Nigeria’s First Device Protection Service

Telecommunications giant, Globacom, has announced a strategic partnership with Nigeria’s leading technology solutions provider, Cubecover, to launch a pioneering device protection service for its subscribers.

The innovative service—an industry first in Nigeria—offers both new and existing Glo customers affordable protection against screen and water damage to their mobile devices. With premiums as low as ₦50 per day, subscribers can access up to ₦50,000 worth of screen repairs or replacement when damage occurs.

Speaking on the initiative, Globacom’s Head of Value Added Services (VAS), Mr. Mojeed Aluko, stated that customers can choose from daily (₦50), weekly (₦300), or monthly (₦600) subscription plans. However, he noted that full protection is only activated after maintaining an active subscription for at least one month.

“As a responsive and innovative network, we are leveraging this partnership to offer meaningful device protection to our subscribers, ensuring they stay connected even after accidental damage,” Aluko said.

To enroll, customers can simply dial 70131# on their mobile devices and select their preferred subscription plan. The subscription fee is deducted directly from their Glo airtime, either as a one-time payment or through auto-renewal. Upon successful payment, customers will receive a link to run a diagnostic check on their screen. Once the screen passes the test, the device’s IMEI is registered with Cubecover for coverage.

Globacom emphasized the simplicity and speed of the service, highlighting its mobile-based enrolment, affordable micro-premiums, and tech-driven verification process, which eliminates delays and paperwork.

The company further encouraged new users to visit any Gloworld outlet nationwide to purchase a Glo SIM and device, after which they can immediately subscribe to the device protection service.
